Rules of Discipline

The educational journey at the SDIS goes beyond imparting knowledge. Through carefully planned, interdisciplinary scholastic and co-scholastic programmes, we endeavour to equip our learners with necessary life-skills and values that help them to face the challenges of life in a confident & courageous manner. It is an institution which can boost living following the essence of CCE in totality. Beyond the stretch of classes prescribed by the board is a world of experiences and learning that are food for the soul. The various activities planned for the students not only provide them with an exposure to various aspects of life but also boost up their confidence. It is an effort to equip them for their future.

The SDIS system of education emphasizes on nurturing the qualities such as 'Compassion, Discipline, Loyalty and Quest for learning with Integrity. The school aims to be an institution of excellence dedicated for giving every child 'TOTAL EDUCATION by imparting moral values and nurturing his/her in built talents through harmonious integration of heart mind and body because we believe that education is not for the mind, but also for the soul within. We stress to the total development of each child: spiritual, moral, intellectual, social, emotional, and physical. We give take care to build an atmosphere of equality in our school whether it is for our students or teachers without any discrimination.

Our Mission is “To create a learning environment for the students with a foundation in basic skills, to provide an introduction to the arts, to foster a positive work ethic, to create an environment that harbours tolerance and respect for each other, and to spark an attitude of inquiry and an enthusiasm for learning that will enable our children to become productive & responsible citizens.

ICSE

Our curriculum embraces both the prescribed and optional learning opportunities provided by the School.

Curriculum Policy

SDIS is committed to "encouraging the growth of intellectual curiosity, creativity and independent learning whilst also preparing each pupil for the best possible examination results, through a broadly based, coherent and balanced curriculum". In this way the curriculum serves the school's mission statement of "the rigorous pursuit of excellence balanced by compassionate concern for individuals".

Primary School (Nursery to 3rd)

does not have examinations but has a continuous assessment policy against levels of achievements. Students are assessed on 3 essential elements – Attitude, Skill & Knowledge using various strategies and tools. At the end of each semester reports are given in the form of a detailed skill-based appraisal with a detailed Student Profile.

Middle School (4th to 7th)

reports include criteria based assessment and an achievement grade together with a detailed profile evaluation comment on the student's performance in subjects, Co- Curricular activities and Social Activity. These are issued at the end of each semester.

Class 8th to 12th

semester examinations prepare students for board examinations and SDIS is dedicated to the task of making this preparation both effective and realistic. The structure and content of internal examinations are based on the requirements of the content and nature of the ICSE and ISC examination syllabus.

GSEB

SDIS also has the State Board Education Board with the subjects English, Hindi, Maths, Sanskrit, EVS/S.S , Gujarati, Science, Drawing, Computer.
